Guess who has been playing Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Yes, this is Disara. But in the game I made her a Smuggler and not a Sith. Only reason why I did make her a Sith in this picture is because of how the Honor Guard looked when I was running a character through there. And I thought to myself, Disara would find a way to use their helmets to open giant bottles of beer.

When ever I play an MMO, I tend to always make one character, and that character is Disara.

I like to roleplay out my characters and usually play on an RP server. And if you’ve ever been on an RP server, you always run into the “dark and brooding” characters that stand in the many dark corners of the tavern. Disara was created to counter that and tends to be the complete opposite of the gloomy characters.

Lately I’ve been playing Lord of the Rings online and joined one of the RP servers. And the Prancing Pony is filled with the Gloomy characters standing in dark corners. So Disara does what Disara does best, drink and make a fool of herself.

In the past she has made insulting assumptions of elves and paid witness to several bar fights.

The last time I played, Disara met up with a minstrel who didn’t heed Disara’s warnings on how she was a terrible musician. The minstrel was determined to teach Disara how to play the lute. This quick doodle was inspired by this RP session.

I was practicing/sketching drunk Disara faces while watching Lexx on Netflix.

So I ended up quickly doodling Disara Shepard and what she would say to Kai if she saw him.

Abductions became a lot easier after they went with the new design schematics for the ship.

Tried out a Random Question Generator and got “How does a Spork Parade”. I suppose you could say that it inspired me a little…

Yes, I am a giant nerd. Currently I’m playing 2 D&D games (DMing one), just got World of Warcraft Cataclysm, drawing the web comic Zombie Ranch, and working on another comic that will be out next year.

Now to add to that, I’ve added listening to nerdy podcasts like:

• Critically Hit – D&D game play
• Hearthstone Tavern – World of Warcraft Podcast for Roleplayers

And now I can add a new one – The Brian Howard Podcast. They don’t focus on nerd topics like the others do, Brian and his co-host Cowen are hilarious to listen to. I have a habit of listening to people talk and a lot of times they’ll say something that creates a drawing challenge. Like my friend who said “I’ll punch the fish in the face!” at a party I was at and caused me to draw “Punch the Fish in the Face” for my Bits of Nothing artist journal comic.

On one of the Brian Howard Podcasts, Brian and Cowen talk about what Brian’s super hero persona would be. They came up with The Neutralizer with some small details on the costume. Well ofcourse, I had to draw it.

Once again, I’ll repeat…I am a giant nerd.

At the Long Beach Comic Con 2010, a little girl came to the table with her dad. She then went to pick up a sketch card I drew of Cthulhu doing a “Kilroy was Here” pose and asked her dad to buy it. The father asked her if she was sure because maybe she might want the witch sketch card I did, saying “Don’t you want the witch one, because it’s Halloween?”. The little girl then said “No! Monsters are Halloween and every day!” and convinced him to buy the Cthulhu sketch card.

That girl was horribly adorable and I have been using that phrase ever since – “Monsters are Halloween and every day!”.

Before she left, she asked me if I could draw another sketch card where a little monster eating a big monster. So I ended up drawing this.

Drawn on a small sketch card at the Long Beach Comic Con and the word balloon was by Clint Wolf. But a lot of people wear the tiny hats and to me they always look like they were taken off of tiny people. In this case, a Leprechaun.

I am a RPer at heart, and I like to play out a character whenever I play a game. It gives me material like this to draw as well.

One of my favorite characters to create in almost every game is Disara. She’s a type of female character you don’t see much of in stories, from what I can tell at least. She’s a drunk Anne Bonnie without the competence. She has gambling problems and fails at flirting by saying the worst thing possible.

This is an example of Disara being Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 2 and what I would see her saying in the game to Garrus, and about everyone else on the ship. How I hope in the next one that Joker can be involved in the romantic options, that would be hilarious!
