169 – Frank Advice

What's going on in that little man's head? His marriage didn't seem all that happy, but anyone who's had surgery knows even the removal of something bad for your health can be a traumatic event. Phoenix Comicon starts this Thursday and we'll be at table 1626! The floor looks to be vast, so we've made a handy dandy marker map which you'll find at the end of this post. In the program we will be listed as Lab Reject Studios. We've been working ourselves pretty hard the past week trying to get ready and also get a comic page up on time. Since we'll be out of town for awhile though it means we're going to have one of our "sketch posts" for next Wednesday, May 29th.  Our fan art well is still dry at the moment, so the complexity of said post will depend on how much Dawn has recovered. We'll definitely have something for you, and Clint will be providing a blog entry per usual, but the next story comic is slated for June 5th. If you'd just as soon skip the filler, join us then! phoenixcomiccon phoenixcomicconbooth

  1. I don’t actually entirely understand what he is yelling at Eustace about! I feel like Frank’s shouting could probably be a little more indicative here because I have no idea what would be helpful right now.

  2. Can zombies swim? okay, that might be a stupid question; im pretty sure that trench wouldn’t be there if it was useless, but still… i hope its very very deep. Xd
otherwise, i want to say good job for the first panel: that view gives me the chills for showing just how big of a threat it is and also because that crowd of zombie is very well done. just enough details to make us understand what they are, instead of (and im not trying to b!tch here) some brownish clouds of dust with red eyes we’ve seen in some previous pages. im perfectly aware that drawing, cleaning and coloring all by yourself is a huge job, especially in only 7days, and i want to say i appreciate the efforts 😀

  3. They can’t swim (I think), but they can sure as shootin’ *walk* along the bottom of the moat. But can they climb out again? That is the question… 😀

  4. I would venture to guess that (for starters) Frank would like Eustace to tell the pile o’ McCartys on top of him to quit tussling. He’s probably thinking this particular part needs no deep explanation. 😉

  5. Honestly, I think Frank is giving some bad advice. Who do you think Eustace blames for his ‘Honeybears’ demise? How do you think he is going to make it right?

  6. How would they go about “making it right”? This is way beyond messy and both sides have lost and gained (freedom for Eustace’s kin, extra zombies and less annoying living people for Zane)
