362 – Civilian Investigation

We mustn't forget that good ol' Uncle Chuck is a veteran of the Zombie Wars and likely recalls some of the technology that was used. Rosa may have that dissected cambot spread apart like a jigsaw puzzle but it looks like one Charles W. Zane just provided the real missing piece she needed. And with that bit of revelation, we are announcing our Holiday break, which will be a bit longer than usual this year on account of us trying to catch up on some end-of-year business like getting a new booth banner designed and ordered. Again the plan is to have sketches and blogs to fill the gap (which hey, if anyone wants to contribute some fan art for publication let us know!). We'll resume our story on Wednesday, January 10th!

  1. well…shit…

  2. There was that invisible old school one around. So the psychopathic media boss is a psychopath. Big suprise.

  3. Those stealthy little drones would be perfect for military and intelligence use. Slap a few lasers on them, maybe some mini-missile launchers and well… 🙂

  4. I got some helicoptor vibes from Rosa a while back – I wondered pilot or mechanic …. That disassembly job might tell a tale

  5. Honestly I could see Rosa being a bit of both. I imagine it’s hard to find a good mechanic these days and she seems the type to be protective of what’s hers. Granted I’m leaning more towards mechanic, less likely to have stuck in the memory of the film crew that way.

  6. A lot of airline mechanics know how to operate the aircraft. They may not be licensed, but they can operate and fly the machine. Rather have to, since engine runups and technical checks of those machines tend to require knowing the controls… I imagine in post-Z-day times, following strict ATC adherence is less important then actually getting a bird to where it needs to go. Preferably without crashing.

  7. A laser cutter could be even easier than a flame cutter on a camera bot. They must have a large power source to support hovering (plus camera and transmitter and remote control). I wonder if Darlene know about this and told Suzie? Or did Darlene tell her about the stealth bot?

    1. I’m of course playing inside baseball to answer any of these questions, but I will say that as far as has been shown in the comic, only Oscar has seen the stealth bot… and he may still not quite be sure he wasn’t hallucinating.

  8. Hasn’t Brujefe (or whatever her name is, leader of Huchachas) seen it also?

Just got to say….Rosa’s expression in the last panel is subtle and great, and pretty skillful for line comics. Well done, Dawn!
