UPDATING OCCASIONALLY (FOR NOW)

81- Hot-button Issue

So we've been discussing and we thought it would be fun to see if there's any interest out there from people who might want to do some more fan art for Zombie Ranch. We've had some in the past but it's been awhile, and if you want to format it in the same size as our comic, we might even be able to use it as a "guest strip"! Yes, this is partly because San Diego Comic-Con is coming up and it'd be nice to have some extra material to possibly use as we're trying to wrap our heads around exhibiting for the first time. It might be short notice, but then again anything that misses that deadline, we might be able to present in the future, like this Fall when we have that hectic appearance schedule lined up. Ideally we'll just be able to continue the story posts through everything, but if not, hey, this would be a way to help out any of you out there who wanted a showcase for your skills, or just really, really had a hankering to draw Uncle Chuck waltzing with his lawn flamingo. So: - The submission would be presented on our front page on the day it's published. After that it will go into our Extras section of the comic navigation and also be posted on our Fan Art page (with full credit and links, of course) - Ideally we'd want submissions by July 12th. - Submissions should be themed around the world and characters of Zombie Ranch, but given that we've got cowboys and post-zombie-apocalyptic wastes rubbing elbows with future tech, media-drenched "utopias", there's a lot of possibilities there. In the past we've had everything from character pin-ups to pseudo "Sears-catalog" style ads for weaponry, and beyond. If we like the idea enough we might even want to work it in to the main canon (with your permission, of course). - We're not envisioning this as any sort of contest, since we don't really have much in the way of prizes. We might be able to send out some signed copies of our first print issue if people are interested, but that's about the extent of our compensation budget aside from you getting some exposure and our good will (whatever *that's* worth!). - Whatever you do, keep in mind our comic page size is a nice, even... err... 758 x 1137 pixels. Anything bigger or smaller and we'll have to rescale it, which might cause fuzziness. Too much fuzziness and we probably won't be able to use it except putting it on the Fan Art page where size doesn't matter. We'd really rather not change the shape of the comic post because whenever we do that it breaks the tracking codes of some ranking sites and that's a pain to fix. - Submissions and any questions can be sent to clint @ zombieranchcomic.com (no spaces), or you can use our site contact form if you're just making inquiries with no attachments. Hope to hear from you!

  2. Sounds good to us! Like we said, even if it’s not in time for San Diego, we should still have other opportunities for presentation. 😀
