Yup, he’s a bastard XD
Dr. Norman (not a real doctor)
Are those pajamas available in XXXL in the gift shop?

It’s been a while, so let me ask: Did we get a reason for him to WANT Susie dead? Not to backseat, but if we didn’t, I’m worried were about to move into “Stupid Evil” territory. Now, stupid happens, don’t get me wrong. It’s not bad storytelling for that to be the case here.
You’ve just done a good job NOT having that be a driving factor, so the “Kill off the stars of my successful reality TV show.” seems shortsighted, otherwise. Oh, I guess I could be mistaken about the in-story reality TV show’s success. Like, if the company behind them is losing money, or they think a change in management at the ranch would make the whole thing more popular/profitable, then I can see the above scenario happening as well.
I REALLY think I’m just forgetting something important, but that I don’t have time to deep dive to remind me of, hence the comment. >_<

It certainly has been stretched out over quite a while, but there have definitely been hints from quite near the beginning that whoever is running the reality TV show definitely wants her dead.
But I certainly don’t recall any reason why.

Yeah it’s fair to not remember since it’s been a hot minute (many, many minutes) but if you feel like a refresher the most relevant bits would be the beginning of Episode 8 and the end of Episode 15. We haven’t explicitly spelled out exactly what The Exec means by his “side hustle” or who was on the other end of that phone call, though.
I’m hoping that when the whole thing is eventually available it will make sense, or at least enough sense to have hung this narrative on.

Thanks for the replies, Deoxy and Clint. Yeah, I’d totally forgotten about those things. Good to know!

Seems about time for the two people who aren’t there to make a surprise entrance as the ace Susie didn’t even know she had.

There’s still 3-5 people on her side that might be planning something. This guy is a megalomaniac with a god complex, so letting him think he’s the sharpest tool in the shed sets him up for a fall. Everything depends on those cameras, and I suspect their little stop over by the charging coffins had something to do with her actual plan, not the one the a-hole thinks it is.

Really enjoyed the opening of Zombie Ranch. I like the combination of the western setting with the zombie concept, it gives the story a really distinctive atmosphere. I’m a freelance illustrator and animator, and I’d be interested in seeing how some of these scenes could translate into motion, especially as a short animated teaser or character scene.

558 – Cotton Clad Calamity
What would you call this? Armchair assassination? Merk-from-home?
Well, Suzie ain't dead (or undead) quite yet, so we'll just have to see if his gloating is justifiable.
Sometimes things work out…
We already mentioned it on the comic blog for this week but I know there’s a few of you out there who only mosey by to see what’s spilled out of my brain here week-to-week, so I’ll reiterate: we’re headed back to San Diego Comic-Con’s Small Press Pavilion for 2017!
Now it’s true, we’ve managed to get in twice before in the last six years or so of diligently applying, but in both those cases we didn’t make the first selection cut, instead getting the opportunity to sub in because someone else had to cancel. This year marks our first occasion of outright approval, and that’s not only one heck of a nice feeling, it also solves a big looming problem we were going to have to deal with because our usual hotel was undergoing renovations next year and was going to be unable to accommodate us. We always expected that might happen sooner or later because every year was a special favor from the manager to rent us one of their few rooms that was available outside the Comic-Con hotel block. We paid through the nose for it, naturally, but the peace of mind always felt worth it. In 2017 though they’d have nothing to spare, so while I thanked the manager for her early warning (and her bringing up that hopefully in 2018 they could help us out again) we were going to be in the regular scrum for 2017, a scrum which we’d dipped our foot into this year just out of curiosity and learned that the “downtown” hotels go bye-bye within less than three minutes of reservations opening. Seriously, for people that qualify for pro status it’s not the tickets that are the problem these years, it’s finding somewhere to stay.
But that’s the general scrum. There’s an earlier hotel scrum that occurs that’s only open to Exhibitors for the show, which makes sense when you consider they’re the people with the most stuff to lug and also the ones providing most of the products and entertainment. The problem with getting called up off the wait list is that both times we were, that scrum was long over. Fortunately, as noted above we had alternate arrangements in place. Those arrangements went belly up for 2017, but by timely chance, or maybe us getting better, or just sheer dogged persistence, our first-round approval means that we might be able to snag our favored hotel regardless… and at a much lower rate!
It might be premature to be excited about this, but I have a good feeling. We’ll see how it goes.
